******The National Weather Service has issued a warning for yet another catastrophic hurricane following on the heels of Charley, Frances, Ivan and Jeanne. The path of this hurricane zigs and zags, and is therefore highly unpredictable. Experts predict that this one will cause the most damage to the United States that we have experienced in four years. They are naming this one Hurricane Kerry. Be advised, the only way for citizens to protect themselves is by hiding behind a Bush.*****

Hobnob
Tonight I attended the Hobnob at the Indiana Historical Society. For those of you wondering what on earth it was, it was a evening with the political candidates for all parties to let the public come and meet with them. There was plenty of free food and drinks to be enjoyed. It started at 5 and didn't get over until after 8.
Among those that spoke, I enjoyed Mitch Daniels the best. He didn't speak until about 7:30, so those that had been drinking...were a bit tipsy. Here is a short clip of how he started his speech. It is only about a megabyte for those of you on dialup.
In all, it was pretty fun (especially the free food)

An email I got.
IRAQ - VERY INTERESTING - DID YOU KNOW?
1. The garden of Eden was in Iraq.
2. Mesopotamia, which is now Iraq, was the cradle of civilization!
3. Noah built the ark in Iraq.
4. The Tower of Babel was in Iraq.
5. Abraham was from Ur, which is in Southern Iraq!
6. Isaac's wife Rebekah is from Nahor, which is in Iraq.
7. Jacob met Rachel in Iraq.
8. Jonah preached in Nineveh - which is in Iraq.
9. Assyria, which is in Iraq, conquered the ten tribes of Israel.
10. Amos cried out in Iraq!
11. Babylon, which is in Iraq, destroyed Jerusalem.
12. Daniel was in the lion's den in Iraq!
13. The three Hebrew children were in the fire in Iraq (Jesus had been
in Iraq also as the fourth person in the fiery furnace!)
14. Belshazzar, the King of Babylon saw the "writing on the wall" in
Iraq.
15. Nebuchadnezzar, King of Babylon, carried the Jews captive into
Iraq.
16. Ezekiel preached in Iraq.
17. The wise men were from Iraq.
18. Peter preached in Iraq.
19. The "Empire of Man" described in Revelation is called
Babylon, which was a city in Iraq!
And you have probably seen this one. Israel is the nation most often
mentioned in the Bible. But do you know which nation is second? It is
Iraq! However, that is not the name that is used in the Bible. The
names used in the Bible are Baby lon, Land of Shinar, and Mesopotamia.
The word Mesopotamia means between the two rivers, more exactly between the
Tigris and Euphrates Rivers. The name Iraq, means country with deep roots.
Indeed Iraq is a country with deep roots and is a very significant
country in the Bible.
No other nation, except Israel, has more history and prophecy
associated it than Iraq.
And also... This is something to think about! Since America is
typically represented by an eagle. Saddam should have read up on his
Muslim passages...
The following verse is from the Koran, (the Islamic Bible)
Koran (9:11) - For it is written that a son of Arabia would awaken a
fearsome Eagle. The wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the
lands of Allah and lo, while some of the people trembled in despair still
more rejoiced; for the wrath of the Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah;
and there was peace.
(Note the verse number!) Hmmmmmmm?!

THE REPUBLICAN AND THE DEMOCRAT
A woman in a hot air balloon realized she was lost. She lowered altitude and spotted a man in a boat below. She shouted to him, "Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am."The man consulted his portable GPS and said, "You're in a hot air balloon, approximately 30 feet above a ground elevation of 2,345 feet above sea level. You are 31-degrees, 14 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees, 49 minutes west longitude." She rolled her eyes and said, "You must be a Republican.""I am," replied the man. "How did you know?" "Well," answered the balloonist, "everything you told me is technically correct, but I have no idea what to make of your information and I'm still lost. Frankly, you've not been much help to me."The man smiled and responded, "You must be a Democrat.""I am," replied the balloonist. "How did you know?" "Well," said the man, "you don't know where you are or where you're going. You've risen to where you are due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise that you have no idea how to keep, and you expect ME to solve your problem. You're in EXACTLY the same position you were in before we met, but somehow now it's MY fault."
Somehow terribly true.
I get to work for Mitch Daniels again on Saturday!

Labor Day.
Over Labor Day weekend, it has been a long-lasting tradition to go up to Plymouth, Indiana to my Grandparents house for the Blueberry Festival and Labor Day parade. This year was REALLY cool because we got to walk in the parade with Mitch Daniels. The original idea was to ride with Mitch on TOP of RV1, but for saftey reasons, we couldnt:( we ended up walking the parade route which was about 2 1/2 miles long (Not counting the runs to and from the RV to get more stickers/papers).
We got to walk along and hand out papers and stickers while Mitch greeted the parade-goers. The Star was also onhand to interview him before the parade. I have included several pictures from the parade.
